Yeah, process is determined largely by demand. You can bet if Activision thought Crash Bandicoot would sell well at $60 they would sell it at that price.
I mean, if you always compare games based on the price of other games, pretty much every $60 game is a horrible deal compared to, for instance, Hollow Knight. However you can bet that if they even tried to charge $30 for Hollow Knight it's sales would plummet.
What ultimately matters is if those who ...
Microsoft is the only company that's launched a big exclusive so far this year. How can we even remotely know who has the best exclusives yet?
Come on man, I like the Switch and I think their 2019 lineup right now looks absolutely killer, but it's February right now and we don't even have solid release dates for most games for any platform. It's February and there's barely been anything released. Nintendo's first big game doesn't even come out for a month and a half and after that it's pretty dry until Mario Maker 2 in June. Saying they have the best 2019 exclusives when most aren't out for four month...
@porkChop,
I mean, it wouldn't be considered some of the best graphics in the industry if it released today. However if a AA studio put out a game looking like Crysis today it would hold up well enough. It's the lighting, draw distance, and character models that still hold up today. Plus the AI and the physics are still excellent . . . and those tax the CPU.
Yeah, but Nintendo has Pokemon gen 8, Astral Chain, Animal Crossing, Mario Maker 2, Link's Awakening, Fire Emblem 3 Houses, Luigi's Mansion 3, Yoshi, plus anything new they announce at E3.
Microsoft isn't much of s competition in that area. Sony is, but even if everything they've got announcemed hits this year Nintendo's lineup would still give them a run for their money . . .and it's likely some of their games are 2020. Plus they're skipping E3 ...
Hell, Crysis 1 was what? 2007? On max settings it wouldn't look too out of place if it was released now, over 10 years later.
God, I love Fire Emblem.
The whole school/three houses things look interesting, but I'm curious to see what the story is like. Hopefully everything cones together really well.
I've done plenty of that, but it gets so bad for your back and I already have back problems :/ Had to start playing at a desk with a decent chair.
You know, after taking a closer look at it, I don't think it's the faces. I think it's the fact that his hair, clothes, hat, and weapons all have the same plastic look.
I get they want it to look miniature, almost like toys, but they could at least give the clothes and hat a light cloth look, the hair s bit of texture, and the sword/shield more of a metal look. It would go a long way in making Link look far better.
Yeah, we've had one trailer. Obviously it would be awesome if it was cheaper, but I don't think we can really judge the value until we have a chance to see what it's actually offering.
Nintendo has had a growing market share ever since the Switch launched, lol.
Price is determined by demand. More people will buy a Link's Awakening remake at $60 than would buy something like the Shadow of the Colossus remake, even if SOTC remade was $20.
Kinda sucks, but they are priced higher because tons of people want them and will gladly pay $60 for them. I was fine with Wind Waker, as I felt the improvements were worth it, but then there's ones like Twilight Princess which felt more like an HD texture pack. I guess we'll see what s...
@knushwood butt,
Bayonetta 3 never had a release window.
Hasn't been any info on that.
It's been confirmed to be coming to other consoles, but a bit later.
@CorndogBurglar,
Yeah, I ended up buying the game anyways using some rewards points when it was already 50% off . . . came out to $5. I would have bought it at launch if it was just a good WW2 Battlefield game. That initial trailer just completely set the wrong tone and killed off any hype I had for the game.
That doesn't even make sense. Even with 3DS's falling sales, Switch + 3DS sales combined are up YOY. They're the only console maker with overall hardware sales up YOY. If you're talking about individual hardware then the Vuta had the biggest drop.
Seems to be a trend with a lot of Japanese gaming companies. Sega is seeing similar results.
Who would have thought that when you're a gaming company, turning your focus away from your core audience to try and drive your revenue is a bad idea? /S
That's an interesting way of saying you'll never buy their mobile games, lol.
Word on from industry insiders has been that gen 8 will be a true console Pokemon. Obviously take it with s grain of salt, but it does seem to be the case that it was in development before Let's Go started and the fact that they're also making Town, which is a full 3D title that looks a lot better than the 3DS Pokemon games, does seem to bode well for the upcoming games
